17 Bit Software

The library's scope was remarkable. The collection spanned demos, games, education, word processors, utilities, applications, graphics, and music - really, the full breadth of what Amiga users were making and sharing at the time. The disk numbering ran from disk 1 all the way to 4567, making it one of the largest single-library collections in the Amiga PD world. That's a staggering amount of material, and it gives you a sense of just how vibrant the Amiga scene was through the late 1980s and into the 1990s.

Curator's note: we are missing several disks from the 17 Bit series - they are simply missing from the 17 Bit Collection CD-ROMs, sometimes in sizable blocks! If you have alternative sources for the 17 Bit library that may cover some or all of the missing disks, please let the curator's know. The curators would also like to know if anyone has any of the 17 Bit "Update" disks, which was a disk magazine issued to 17 Bit's members.
