Slipped Disk

40 entries

A small but well-curated Amiga public domain library that produced a series of disks under the Slipped Disk name. The series ran to at least 20 volumes, covering a range of software types including games, utilities, and demos.

This one is a bit of a mystery. It appears to be a fairly early PD library, based on the fact that I can find magazine adverts referring to the collection in 1988 - it is probably earlier than that as some of the disks are based on Workbench 1.1, which was released in 1986. It's the usual mix of games, utilities, pictures and music that are common in PD compilation disks in the early days of the Amiga. But knowledge about Slipped Disk is pretty thin on the ground, and I haven't been able to find any information about who ran it, where it was based, or how it was distributed. The disks themselves don't give any clues about how or who compiled them. If you have any information about Slipped Disk, we'd love to hear from you.
