S.N.A.G.

The disks have a warm, personal quality to them that's characteristic of the best user group productions. The readme files are written in a chatty, first-person voice, like they are addressing people they knew personally (and probably did at group meetups). Disk 2, for example, carries digitised pictures from "our own Rick Park", with the author noting that the lion picture "looks better than any digitised picture I've seen" - signs of local pride and community flavour instead of a more anonymous PD library compilation.

The content across the series is eclectic but practical. Each disk typically included one game, a screen hack, and several utilities to make running the Amiga easier and more enjoyable, a formula the group stuck to consistently. The early disks feature tools like VirusX, LHwarp, and NewZap alongside entertainments like YATC and Mandala, suggesting a membership that valued both a well-maintained system and something fun to show off with.

Beyond the disk series itself, very little is documented about S.N.A.G. as an organisation - when it was founded, how many members it had, where it met, or who ran it. The 1990 dates on the surviving disks suggest the group was active during the Amiga's peak years in the US market, and the polish and consistency of the productions suggests a well-organised group with a dedicated librarian.
