TBAG, the Tampa Bay Amiga Group, was a Florida-based Amiga user group whose monthly disk series became one of the longer-running and more widely circulated examples of community-produced PD software in North America. What made TBAG notable wasn't just the content of their disks, but their timing: the series began in 1986, just a year after the Amiga's launch, making it one of the earliest ongoing Amiga user group disk series anywhere.

The disks were produced under the straightforward title Disk of the Month - a format common to user groups of the era, where members contributed software, utilities, graphics, and other material, and the group's librarian compiled and distributed it on a regular schedule.

The series ran from disk #1 in 1986 through to at least disk #77 in January 1993, spanning roughly the length of the Amiga's commercial peak and covering a wide range of software types. The early disks in particular - starting from a time when the Amiga was brand new and there was relatively little software of any kind available - have a freshness about them that later entries naturally can't replicate. Getting hold of a TBAG disk in 1986 or 1987 would have felt genuinely exciting; the platform was new, the community was small and energetic, and every new piece of software was a discovery.

The TBAG disks stand today as an authentic snapshot of grassroots Amiga culture at its earliest and most enthusiastic, before the PD scene had rules, conventions, or commercial interests. As with many user group series of this era, detailed records of who ran it, how meetings were organised, and exactly how distribution worked are not well-documented in surviving online sources.
