WackMan - a PD game by BananaSoft ( this is a 'real PD' release )
=================================

  Written By JAZ of BananaSoft 1992. Please send your comments via e-mail
to jhawes@srd.bt.co.uk The source code is availible to budding AMOS
programmers for a small cash contribution.

  Thanx to :

    Daz ("AMOS = Make a cake machine") the assembly man.

    Chris ("Shall I do a promo video for it ?") the image man.

    Phinias ("Well if I do the music and Matt does the graphics what are
               you going to do?") the music helper.

    Matt ("Here's something I drew last night in my sleep")

    Scott ("Just one more go") the play-tester.

  WackMan is a free game, which means the authors give you permission to
copy it freely, and distribute it through BBS's, ftp sites etc, as long
as you do not charge any money for doing so.
  Please note that most PD libraries DO charge money for the software they
distribute and they do charge more than the cost of copying the game
because they charge for the time it took them.
  As this is a PD release, I, the author, have not charged for my time
and I'm not making any money out of this s/w, which I own (and I have the
source code to legally prove that).
  As I didn't get any money at all for all the effort I put into this
so I am requesting that PD libraries do not touch any BananaSoft PD
unless they buy the rights to the title in question. If anyone is going
to make money out of PD it should be the author(s) first !

System Requirements
===================

  Compatible with Kickstart 1.2 1.3 2.04 (Maybe others too) 1Mb Memory is
required, but it can be 100% chip. It is recommended that you boot the
wackman disk, but you can run it from workbench if you wish.

Extracting the archive "Wackman.zoo"
====================================

  There are two WackMan archives in circulation - a DMS'd version and a
zoo'd version. The DMS'd version is easy to extract but the zoo'd one
isn't. If you have the DMS'd version then un DMS it and skip to 'Playin
The Game'
  The contents of the zoo'd archive should be extracted and placed on a
disk called "WackData", sorry but this name is important.

 The contents should be . . .

WackMan
WackMan.info
devs/system-configuration
icons/(10 files)
iff/final.ABK
iff/cycle-intro.ABK
iff/intro-screen.ABK
maps/(10 files)
music/(6 files)
s/startup-sequence

 You will also need ( from your workbench disk )

libs/diskfont.library
libs/mathtrans.library

 If your using Kickstart/Workbench 1.3 you may need some other libraries,
but what these are I am not sure at this time ....! ( but if anyone out
there is still using 1.3 then tell us ! )
 You will, of course, have to install the disk as well.

Playing The Game
================

 Do I really need to tell you how to play this game ??? Oh well ok then.
You walk along and eat these pill things !!!

 The universe is doomed !! The four dreaded re-generating ghosts of wack
world have spread their wrath upon this world ( wack world of course ).
 The only way they can be stopped is if someone eats all their deadly
pills - and the only person who can do this is the famous (?) superhero
 . .. . WackMan.
 Guide wackman around the ten dangerous levels to eat all of the pills
and save the universe !!! Eat the power pills in the corner of the screen
and you can eat the monsters too.(You can eat the ghost when they're orange,
but watch out they turn back to white with no warning.)

 When wackman first loads, use up and down on the joystick to select the
game type of your choice and press fire.
